Parliamentarians, Council Leaders, Civil Servants and pressure group representatives gathered Westminster for the launch of the Plastics 2020 Challenge.

At a well attended event MPs and Peers heard Councillor Paul Bettison, Chair of the Local Government Association, welcome the new commitments made by the plastics industry.

The launch was co-sponsored by Lindsay Hoyle MP (Labour) and Nigel Evans MP (Conservative) who both addressed the gathering and led the signing of the commitments by the parliamentarians.

Pictured above is the Duke of Montrose, Shadow Defra Minister signing the commitments. Defra Minister Dan Norris MP sent a letter of welcome for the initiative.
